I have to admit it was a bit of a fluke that I got it. I originally thought it might be the dock part of the newer ipods but when I went to look I realized it wasn't but noticed that other jack. The only thing that really threw me off was the colors. I was looking at a 20gig ipod instead of a mini.
Anyways Here's the next one. I'm not sure how hard this will be.

Is it the button on a lighter like the one pictured below?
sdmaker
4th of November 2005 (Fri), 00:13
lol, nope. its actually a larger item than that. really this is not much of a macro. but the macro would have been next to imposible to guess, lol. the button is about the size of a thumbnail. just for giggles here is the macro of this item. the macro below is the full pic un cropped. Is the second one a bird call?
chemicalbro

LOL the 1st one looks like some kind of fetish torture device......... second looks like a chopstick
DigitalMDX
5th of November 2005 (Sat), 14:19
LOL... I like the guesses but no... The chopstick guess is good in an obscure way, in that what this device is, could also be made from similar material... The bird call guess is quite good, but I won't say why [:)]
Hints:
Object #1 measures two and a half inches by half an inch and dates back to the early to mid 1970s. Probably couldn't be identified unless you owned one or had played with one.
Object #2 - Is a modern version of something that dates back as far as the middle ages and is still used today. You probably haven't seen one in person but I'm quite sure you've seen what uses it.
If there aren't any closer guesses, I'll post a full picture of number 2.
Thanks for the guesses...
chemicalbro

is no 2 an arrow?
DigitalMDX

DigitalMDX
5th of November 2005 (Sat), 19:03
OK, here is a full shot of object 2. You should have an idea of what it is.

DigitalMDX
6th of November 2005 (Sun), 00:28
... reed or wind instrument.
Close enough for me!!!! You win...
Picture 1 is the one I was hoping someone could identify. I firmly believe this is the muscle arm band from a Six Million Dollar Man action figure. However, everything I read about the SMDM doesn't mention the arm band. I have two of these arm bands and the only action figure I've ever had two of is the SMDM. I guess I'll have to go dig through my fathers attic and see if I can find them. Basically you wrap this around his bicep and flex his arm and it snaps off...
Here are some references I've found on the web.

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6004989122&fromMakeTrack=true
The second picture is a synthetic drone reed from bagpipe drone (hence the reference to the sheep call). I know these were tough,
I'm sorry... but I was hoping someone would have guessed "A reed of some type"...
http://www.wygent.com/PermLink/SYNTHE-DRONE.html
But, guess what... now I get to go back to guessing... thanks everyone for playing!!!

I love this thread! Really. I'm not that good in guessing, but I enjoy learning these new things. Like this bagpipe reed: I used to play sax and I had a gut feeling that might have something to do with musical instruments ... but bagpipe! I also like see the URLs for background information.

I'm either blind confused or this is a hint telling us we are all way off base. Ronald S. Jr. hasn't posted since this pic was posted.

It was rather easy. I do microminature soldering for Uncle Sam. I like to look at stuff under a scope. I guess I'm a micro geek.:-)
