I tried getting a macro of chicken soup but it steamed up the lens. Just as well, after seeing the bread I'm not sure I want to know what soup looks like close.

MagentaJoe

Qtrmeg
22nd of January 2006 (Sun), 16:09
Easy. Either an ear ring or the pushbutton for a dogsled ejector seat.

Good clue. ;-)

MagentaJoe
22nd of January 2006 (Sun), 16:18
Another, slightly less vague, clue.

It's something I bought my wife for Christmas this year. In regard to my previous clue, it is a decoration on a "machine" of sorts.

For some reason I think it's one of those things you use to generate a spark when lighting a welding torch. I'm just not sure why.

James

MagentaJoe
23rd of January 2006 (Mon), 09:53
Remember it's super macro. Everyones guesses are in the wrong scale. The brownish spots on it, which I never noticed before, are a clue to it's utility.

Qtrmeg
23rd of January 2006 (Mon), 12:01
It could be a small wire wisk, but my first thought was a folding clasp that is kept closed when you slide the spring-looking thing up.

Qtrmeg is correct, enough. It is the clip to keep this closed...
http://www.ceretti.com/msn/potn/springy_full.jpg

A tea infuser. It's difficult to tell the scale without any reference points in the pic but the diameter of the round mesh is about 1-1/4 inches. The clasp is very small.

You're up Qtrmeg!

Qtrmeg
23rd of January 2006 (Mon), 14:39
Oh yes, the old tea thingy. You know what's funny is the only thing I could think of that used a closer like that is a screen mesh popcorn popper that you hold over a heat source. Larger, but the same idea.

Anyhow, this one ought to drive you to drink. >>>
