Since I'm new here, I haven't followed the thread from the beginning. Checking 275 pages of posts is quite a chore. Without doing that I'm afraid that what ever I pick may have already been done. Is there a listing of all the macro objects posted somewhere? If not, I will just have to post something. I will get it up tomorrow.

That's cool, Geostant. Most new mortar in Britain is bland uniform grey stuff, but old buildings and walls often have nice irregular stuff with coloured crystals and white bits - just like yours!

Now if someone was clever they could take pic #1 & #2 and have an image virtually 4 times the size of the original. Then if they go Sherlock could deduce that this cheap item has a similar construction as an air/oil filter.
..as Sherlock fills his pipe, a classic excuse to buy time to think, he wonders why the colors are not all the same.
