Bald Eagle

It's an interdimensional portal opened by the borg near earth. You can see one of saturns moons in the bottom left corner.

Ian
michapma
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 08:30
I think tim is close, but I thought that moon was a redder shade of yellow.
Seems like an LED face on a computer, monitor or any number of devices.
(Maybe instead of putting a limit on the time or number of guesses, it would be better to tell what your pic is before you go to bed or otherwise disappear for several hours. Not criticizing, just a thought. I just read through the whole thread, and it reminds me of the "what is it?" guessing games I looked at as a kid in magazines. :)

Rob612
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 15:22

Bald Eagle
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 19:43
i apologize for being gone so long , minor emergency. taken care of. here is a hint to make up for it. has everything to do with computers
Bald Eagle
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 19:45
since i was gone so long, if you would like i will forfeit my turn and reveal what it is, again, sorry for being absent so long, I truly thought it would only take one guess, since everybody here is "loaded" with intelligence.
jeffherald
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 20:24
One last guess:
Is it the hole for the latch for the laptop lid?
Bald Eagle
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 20:38
no, but still very warm, here is a photo clue, hope it helps.
jeffherald
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 20:40
Oh, it's the hole on the spindle of a 3 1/2" floppy disk. Good one!
Bald Eagle
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 20:44

Curtis N
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 22:58
Beginners luck, will start getting something together....Ok folks, I'm ready to play.
I've been watching this for a few days but didn't post a guess because I didn't have any shots to contribute.
Tonight I found some stuff to shoot. Then cropped, resized and prepared for uploading, just in case by sheer luck I guess one right.
I'm sure everyone else comes to the game prepared to play. Right? ;)
jeffherald
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 23:05
It is a small part of the key. I stood it on edge and took the shot from above.
Attached it a bigger pic.
JakeC
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 23:06
Thanks Jeff, was pretty sure it was the machined side of a key.
Here's the next one....
(see next page)
jeffherald
1st of July 2005 (Fri), 23:08
Sorry that came through so huge. I really don't have the hang of attaching images. As a recent convert from film, I am not good at post processing. I enjoy taking the shot and seeing the result. I don't do much with it after that. I need a photo editing class, I guess.
It was fun playing this game though.

That's gotta be it! The top of a cheap lighter with the two "grip" gears for your thumb and the flint file in the middle "valley" a little lower to make the spark!
That has to be right doesn't it?

OK, GeForce's turn, but congrats to Delta & Jeremy for getting it also... Methink that the "Flames from hell" hint was not too subtle :D :D
Edit to add (just to keep this a little techie) the pic was taken with a Tamron 90mm Macro backed by the new Kenko 3x Tcon... the little thing is really funny to use, converts the 90 to a 270 and keeps the macro capabilities. Of course, no AF but what the hec, for 200 bucks...
