Not edible - though the name would suggest that it is. Nothing nasty - my two year old likes to play with it. Not alive, not even dead.

I should mention that the color is misleading too. Although this photo is as-shot from the camera (Except for cropping), the subject was backlit by a flash on a cord and mysteriously went green - I was expecting a neutral white cast on the shot.

Yes, in a waywrapped in a wet membrane.
No - if it was wet, it wouldn't work (for this particular type) Is it the spinal cord from a Predator?:)
Nope.

It looks like those "chips" that are used in packaging...the sort that you have to tip out on the floor before you can find what is in the box - and then you have to clean them all up again.
exile

if it was wet, it wouldn't work (for this particular type)
Yeah - that fits with my guess, the "chips" can be plastic or a kind of starchy material that goes mushy when wet.
There are also ones that look just like cheesy whatsits! (but don't taste like them:p)

When I'm online lately I'm either waiting for a photo, have no clue, or its already been guessed when I know what it is. SOL. Someday I'd like to actually be the one who guesses this thing. BOOHOO. I actually got to post once, when someone else wasn't ready. I always keep one ready just in case. Unless I'm at work.

:) Yeah... I'm not as active as I was when the solar cycle was rockin. I'm mostly partial to HF CW mode. Used to operate mobile CW all the time but I changed vehicles and never took the time to re-install the "stuff"
