Somehow I don't think I really deserved that win :)
I'm also at work and won't be able to post anything for at least 4 hours.
So with that being said I open this up to anybody who has not had a chance to post yet. If nothing is posted in 2 hours then it's open to anyone who has not posted recently. If nothing is posted in 4 hours then it's a race between me and anyone else who wants to post something.

The black part is in fact blue (not that it matters) and is indeed a fibre. Not carbon fibre though - Japanese cotton.

The pebbly-looking white stuff is actually ray skin. Apparently often used for the handles of different swords. Not sure why though.

Got it! Well, actually it's a DVD (The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion), but I think you're close enough ;).
The "F" is part of the serial number on the under side of the disc. The box is right under where the clear plastic circle is located.
