I'm still wondering why I totally ignored organic and said silk plant. Would have never guessed, when fruit was mentioned I couldn't think of anything. Maybe something exotic. certainly not an apple :)

as for the item... it looks like the gear crawls along the teeth that are oof, but for the life of me I can't think of what it is. Maybe a press of some sort?

Whatever it is, its well used.
Looking at it more, it looks like its possibly used as some sort of belt drive for something. I just can't figure out what that something is. :) But, guess thats part of the game.
As for a reveal... Try dropping a few hints first ;)

The furthest back part is the flywheel, and the front part is the pinion gear. R/C car parts. Good guess matoch!

Correct, it is the flywheel and clutch bell from a Nitro Rc Motor. I am at work atm so I can not post another image showing the whole motor.

This engine is currently a pull start, but converting it to a "drill starter". You use a drill with a allen bit to drive the starter.

Yeah, but I was posting my response and acceptance of MRaiford's guess while misspix nailed it. It is no big deal, this game is all for fun anyway. I'm sure she will get lots more in days to come.
