Photoblitz is closest, but not quite.
No, it's not a mirror, though a very small part of it (not pictured) is very shiny after I spend some time with it...
And I should probably add that if it were to shatter (and I were to weep about it), it wouldn't shatter into thousands of tiny pieces, more like a couple of pieces.

ding ding ding ding! We have a winner! :D :D :D
It's the bottom of a corrugated #3 smoothing plane. It's a three patent date plane, probably made around 1910 or so, and is of a type of cast iron that will break if it's dropped from your workbench onto the surface below. The plane probably won't break if it lands on your toe first, though... :eek: :shock:

No, it's the bottom of a screen or tv. On the top, the screen, in the middle the separation, on the bottom the plastic of the "case"... At least, that would be my guess ;-)
