I think AirBront has it, a halogen spotlight bulb.

AirBrontosaurus
23rd of August 2006 (Wed), 21:32
An AirBrontosaurus is a mythical beast. It has the ability to fly through the air and play basketball (a parody on the AirBud movies, of which it was based on). They are smart, quick and powerful, but very gentle when they want to be.

Actually, my friends and I were joking around one day, and someone said that they should make an AirBrontosaurus movie as a sequel to the AirBud movies. the name stuck, and the rest is history.

Anyways, here's the next SMGG:

Mike Bell

Looks like the texture of a very old camera body - the 'nipples' are little raised bits to assist your fingers in opening a door to put in film or something. Well?

AirBrontosaurus
24th of August 2006 (Thu), 14:26
The "nipples" are grips of sorts. And stuff does go inside this object, but no one has gotten it right yet.

LOL. Yes, it's toilet paper or bog roll for those in the UK... please tell me you all use it!!!!

I actually saw something about this on a trivia site recently (within the past couple months). Surprisingly, the percentage of people worldwide who use it is very small. About 10-15% if I remember correctly. The site listed several other items people use instead. I just tried to find where I had seen this, but I'm not having any luck. I thought it was on the web site of one of two trivia podcasts I listen to, but I don't see it there now.

Are we talking 3rd world here?

Yeah, I thought that number sounded suspiciously low, too.

I'm sure 3rd world countries make up a lot of the difference, but what I remember was a list of alternatives, like various leaves, corn cobs, bidets, and things like that. I sure wish I could remember where I saw this. I've looked everywhere this morning and just can't find it. Google and AskJeeves aren't being any help, either.

Anyway, here's my macro. I hope I'm not duplicating one already done since I'm new here, but I'm not going back through 7,000+ posts to check. :D

Woo hoo! There was actually one that I sorta kinda knew!

"For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost.
For want of a horse, the battle was lost.
From loss of the battle, a war was lost."

F. Thomas Breningstall first published in Rural Heritage draft-animal magazine. lol

Give me a few.

heh... no worries... if I was in your spot i would have done a little hollering myself. I was feeling a little guilty 'cause I'm thinking it would be a hard guess if you're not used to seeing equine tools all the time. I didn't want to give any hints that would make it too easy! Nice job.

.

My mom used to say this ALL the time. :p I hadn't heard it in years though...lots of memories associated with that.

She used to just say.... "for want of a nail...." and we would all roll our eyes.
She used it to enforce the fact that even the smallest detail was important, which is an important lesson.
Though often it was used to get us to do our chores better, LOL.

Kinda'. My wife has a horse and teaches Riding and competes in dressage. I don't ride much...I mostly carry stuff. Especially when hay or straw is due to be delivered. I get to stack it!

The barn she works at has about 30 horses. Drafts (belgian and percheron), Mustangs, thoroughbreds, etc. Mostly used for hay rides or beginning to intermediate horsemanship lessons. (http://www.danada.info)

What you got?

I don't have anything fantastic. I just have a Saddlebred, a Thoroughbred and a Quarter Horse. But I love them loads and they are my babies. :-D I am not a fantastic rider but mine are forgiving of my mistakes. I was a city girl born and bred, but we "bought the farm" a couple of years ago and I kind of fell into this horse thing. I just love 'em to pieces.

Sounds pretty sweet. We're in the middle of a bustling suburb and we only have one. We're trying to breed her...but that'll have to wait until spring. They are pretty addicting. Just for the record... 3 horses is a little better than "not much fantastic"... It's tough just having one!... 3 of 'em is pretty darn impressive.

BTW, my guess is a farm critter... maybe a close up of a Rooster?

Well hell this is going fast! Let's just say NOT a rooster.
