I have to sleep now. While I am gone (about 7.5 hours) you can :
a) gnaw on an old chair leg, or
b) contemplate all my clues and hints above, and perhaps have a look at your camera equipment as I bet you have ALL got one of these, or
c) get on with your life!
See you in the (UK) morning! :D

Hmmm! I dunno about the battery contact idea. If you have a look at the shadow of the shiny bit you'll see that it is in fact 'U' shaped - not unlike a latch staple. The fact that it sits to one side of the oblong hole and appears to have made a small indentation where it bears against the side (front left of shot) makes me think that it is spring loaded and you flick it to the right to activate it, after which it comes back to rest as seen here. Sorry guys and gals - just my forensic mind doing analyses again! :)

Gotta concur. I'm just wondering where the shadow comes from at the front of the shot. Maybe not on the charger base, but created in the shooting. Anyway, so far that's 3 (make that 4) of us who agree on the same thing. Do we wait for Mike to wake up or does Jim "take it away?"

That would be great Dave. Then us Aussies (and K1W1s of course) who are waiting for sundown could join in. Just getting back to the charger shot, I based my statement on the two CB-5L chargers I have. Could be that Brad's NB-2LH is what we are looking at. Oh well. We'll have to wait for Mike to wake to enlighten us all. For me though, I've just had lunch and I'm heading back to my workshop to all those nuts 'n' bolts! Catchy'all later.

Geurie is a small town located midway between Wellington (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellington%2C_New_South_Wales) and Dubbo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubbo%2C_New_South_Wales).
