Delving briefly back into ancient history, in the interests of completeness:front grill of a mercedes?Part of the radiator grill on an M-class Mercedesdefinately a benzoYes indeed, but not an M-Class. (I did say I wanted an extremely precise answer...!) It's actually the only white SLK in the UK, though I admit it needs a wash.

So, I am wondering, who answered correctly?

StewartR
10th of November 2006 (Fri), 04:30
Well, they all said it was the radiator grille from a Mercedes, so I think that's fair enough. SpiltPickle got there first, so justice has been done.

Meanwhile, back at the game proper, it's VGP's turn. Did anybody notice that was his/her first ever post on POTN? Welcome, VGP! It's your turn...

I am sorry guys! Yesterday was my first day and that was my first post and I didnt know I was to continue that game if I won. I was not prepared, so please feel free to continue the game, anyone, by all means! I will be ready next time! Sorry for the delay!

Hey, no probs VGP. Welcome to POTN. The natives here are very friendly, but if you stick around for a while you're going to start feeling some pain in the wallet region. For example, since I discovered SMGG I've decided I need a proper macro lens... ker-ching!

I'm afraid I don't have anything handy to post. Anybody else up for it?

BearLeeAlive

A set of tubes will do for a while, it is all I have had for 1 1/2 yrs now. I do plan on getting a 100 macro soon though.

Anyone who thinks a macro lens is essential for SMGG should look at some of Jim's posts in this thread (his ring ones for example). The things that guy can do with his tubes are amazing! (no smutty innuendo intended, of course! ;) )

I'm not saying "Don't bother getting a proper macro lens" - I have bought two since joining POTN! Just pointing out that an extension tube or two on a standard lens and maybe a bit of cropping is all you need to play this game. :)

I'm at work so no pics from me. Sorry!

No

This is christmas related , tho this object by itseld isn't exclusively a christmas item. Because it is in a red finish and put with other things makes it christmas-y. In other circumstances yit is an item found on doors, cats and various livestock. I think that pretty much gives it away...

This thing goes with me 98% of the time, I use it all the time.

I have the exact same model on my belt any time I'm not flying somewhere. Great tools. :)

Do what i do....take a shot of some thing and get as close as possible for it to be sharp (suggest using a tripod) and crop to your hearts content to hide the overall object.

I just had a wild thought when I saw the pic...I think it would be a wonderful idea to have a holiday theme from Thanksgiving to New Year''s to only have things that sparkle pretty... :-D It doesn't have to BE a holiday item, it just has to APPEAR to be a holiday item.

Any votes?
