Not to be misunderstood it is the centre of a 6ft by 3ft metal object. Sorry but that was as close as I could get using a flash and not getting a lens shadow at that time.

Yup, brass bed well it was brass but with not much copper in it as evidenced by the small amount of rust.

It is just plain old tie wire, I used it to pull some branches into a better position.

Flywing got it it is a mushroom of the Genus Hyndum related to the hedgehog mushroom. I don't remember the species name of this paticular mushroom but here is a photo of a similar mushroom. I didn't take a photo of the actual mushroom.

This paticular species is not but the hedgehog mushroom is an awsome edible.
