I am excited about the largest full moon of the year tonight. I'm not a skywatcher so I am a newby at this. Any tips on where to set up around Salem or Portland, Oregon would be appreciated. I have been able to determine if it will be around sunset tonight. I am looking for a location with high ground and an interesting foreground. I think it will rise in the north to northeast location but not sure.
I will be shooting it with a T1i and a Sigma 50-500 at f6.3 or Canon 18-200 at f5.6...naturally, I will be tripod mounted and remote triggered. Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

I'm curious. How did that come out for you? Were the Sun and Moon where you figured they would be? Do you have some photos you took that night so I can see what they looked like? Where did you end up shooting from?
Ken
Near CCC.
