I have connection to the Web, can get all the sites I want to visit but not my flickr account which persistently results in 'IE cannot display the webpage'.

Is it possible to unwittingly block a site? I have not done anything unusual or fiddled with settings.

I am running windows XP Pro service pack 3. Could you advise me?

Thanks!

I can see it, either

1: Download Firefox and see if you can get to it from that

2. Reset IE - go to settings and search the tabs for the reset option

I can see it fine with both IE and Firefox. I'm also running XP SP3.

Thanks, Guys. The problem persists for me. I tried Opera with the same unobtainable result. In what way could I have blocked the site on my computer -- if that's possible?

Maybe it's because your from England...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I wonder if your IP got banned for some reason. Do you have another computer you can try, or maybe a friend in the neighborhood that you could try.

Works for me in SeaMonkey and IE6. You don't say which IE you're using. Try connecting from another computer. In IE, check "Tools | Internet Options | Security and see if you've listed it as a "Restricted Site". Also, do you have any content control / filtering measures implemented, either in IE or in your antivirus/firewall software? They may be blocking your site (and all Flickr). Likewise if you're connecting from the office - companies often block some sites they deem not in the corporate interest.

Thanks for your comments and consideration, All: much appreciated.

The site is now accessible. I don't know how it happened. I certainly did not do anything. But after 48 hours normality seems to have resumed, all quite inexplicably!

It could have been the result of you mis typing your password a few times.. if that happens your IP will be banned for a set duration of time.

Also if you mistakenly upload something the server doesn't like. The php software on my paintball forum will mistakenly ban users who try to put animated gif's in their signature... They have to email to to get them unblocked.
