All from the Straiton area of South Ayrshire.

All are lovely but Lady Hunter Blair Walk is exceptional. Really like that one. The light and flow is terrific. And it looks very crisp.

Cameron, some great images as per-normal.
I like the semi-arial view of the village and the angle at which you have taken it.

Blairquhan Castle - love the way it's just peeping out from behind the trees - something which tends to happen a lot in Scotland, you turn a corner and WOW just as you get that fleeting glance for a few moments then it's gone.

Straiton valley - I like how you have included the old "stone wall?" to lead the eye into the picture and the stunted hawthorn makes a good focal point before the eye travels to the horizon - those clouds are really nice so you didn't have rain that day!:lol:

I'll not comment on the last as I already know that one.

those clouds are really nice so you didn't have rain that day!
It was slightly overcast at the start of the walk but improved, as you can see in no 3.
Past visitors to Scotland might be surprised to see such a sky.
It is the genuine article ( not pasted ) although I did use a CPL and NDgrad.

Hi Damian.
You're right, the first two shots were taken from the Monument Hill.
My wife and I haven't done a real hill walk since Helvellyn this Easter.
We thought a couple of gentle hills would be the best way to get the legs back in shape before our next trip down south on Saturday.
I'm afraid I'm having some trouble with my knees so a decent Munro walk is out for the time being. :(
I'm getting old before my time. :?

Maybe I should cut back on the number of lenses, tripod and accessories I take up.
Yeah that's it,I'll leave the 50 f1.8 on my next hill. :lol:

I've got problem knees too mate - try cycling or better still get you wifen to carry the gear! :D
