replaying video clips?

i have a canon s45 digital camera recently all the video clips that i have on my computer can only be viewed on my camera. When i try to run them on my computer windows media player gives me this error.

"Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error. This can occur when another program or operating system component encounters a problem but does not communicate the nature of the problem to the Player.

i was able to watch the video clips before and it is not a camera issue because i can view the clips on a different computer. any suggestions? im running windows xp with service pack 2 and have wmp 10. thanks

Is your file association correct? I had a problem where I couldn't see .avi and mpeg files because my nero took over the file associations. I had to set them back to windows media player.
