Sea turtle

These guys are everywhere in Hawaii but when we first went to the beach last Monday, no one we asked said they had seen any turtles. It took me about 10 seconds to spot a couple and soon we were happily snorkeling with a half dozen of these delightful creatures.

I was actually in Puako on the Big Island.

That must of been an amazing experience, to snorkle with turtles. We often go snorkling but usually just encounter fish :)

How big are these guys ?

Some are about as big around as a table for four, some are about 18-24 inches across. When I get home I'll show you a photo of a couple snorkeling with the turtles so you can relate to the size. We also snorkeled with about 50 species of fish, had a little show from the spinner dolphins and even saw an octopus. I love the sea life!!!

Here are a couple of snorkelers observing the green sea turtle...just so you can see the size of this one. The turtle in the top of this post was much larger than this one with the snorkelers.
