About the mirror: mirror shots are most effective when they evoke additional space within a frame. To that end, if you fill close to or entire frame with the scene in a mirror, then you might as well turn around and take the picture (of the field in this case).

Think of a good background behind the mirror (things ahead of you beyond the mirror) that would contrast well with the reflection (things behind you as you take a shot).

Use smaller apertures for depth of field if you want objects in the mirror (actual distance x2) and the background to be in sufficient focus.
