Ahh back in the sun after shooting the last game in the rain. Actually it was a bit cloudy and sun was peeking in and out. All MIII and 300 2.8 with 1.4tc.

1. First time shooting soccer on turf. I actually was kneeling on the football sideline for a few minutes until I realized I was on the field. Too many damn lines.

8. Not sure about this one. My wife liked it a lot but, what does she know. Severely back lit and could not get a color version to work well. Penalty kick with the other girl just out of frame. This was shot withe second body (MIIn) and 135 2.0

Your wife should take another level of control away from you. She's right... That photo is one of my favorites of the year. Very very nice Dan.

To Mrs. Munson,

Good eye. Kick Dan for me. With love of course, but nice and hard.

I do like it John but it was one of those I'm kind of on the fence with. My wife is actually a very good at portrait photography. She is a school teacher and is always taking photos of her kids.

Always make me laugh John.

Can't stop looking at it. Great photo. The expression on #12 and the preparedness of the goalie... Rule of 1/3's, ... level of difficulty with the back lighting ... Great photo.

The one on the left got drilled by the kick.

She looks like she knew it was coming. BTW, your avatar sucks now. Is that your receding hairline or some other old guy?

I also gotta agree. The last one is my favorite. Love the expression you catch in the photos by the way. Shows the intensity of the game.

Great shots. I agree on #8.

I miss shooting sports in the daylight.

Thanks Chris and Dmao.

JJohn that is no receding hair line. Same as it was in HS.

Dan,
Great work as usual.
Ref. #8: I'd darken the background and it would make a great photo.

Great work.
The coach needs to tell the girls to keep their eyes open though.
Can't head a ball if you don't look for it.

Very nice photos!

Minor nit-pick:

Penalty kick with the other girl just out of frame.

It's a free kick, not a penalty kick ;)

Thanks Tim and Steve.

Thanks int2str. I almost edited after I wrote it but figured it wasn't a big deal.

Thanks Chris and Dmao.

A bit of both. I bought it but did a bunch of customizing to it. I'll see if I can find some better pics of it.

I added a quick release to it and customized the top to get about 4 more inches of height out of it. I used it the other day to strap an umbrella to for a soccer game in the rain. Worked pretty good but it was a little awkward panning back and forth real fast.
