Horid overcast skies at Old Buckenham Airshow made photography difficult but this one came out pretty well considering. (1dMkII, 100-400 @~350). They were not as close as the picture suggests but given the speed of the Mustang, plenty close enough.

The only thing (IMHO) more beautiful than a P-51 Mustang would be TWO of them flying in formation at speed. Very nice. ;) :D

Not that much, about 25% I would say. Old Buckenham is a very small event so you can be very close to the action. The light was horrid though so shooting was difficult. The 100-400 is great for airshows as the push pull allows you to zoom so much faster than a twist job.
