Hi guys, im new to the forums, i havent really ever been into photography but know im highly interested in it. I picked the a95 because from my reading/reviews/friends its a good camera from going to beginner to intermediate, to even 'next level'. Ive taken some pics... link..

im having trouble with noisyness right now, i know that my camera shots arent that good, im still reading and practicing, i read that having a high iso setting causes noise, so i set my cell phone pic to 50 and the rest to 100. Still same noisyness.

Any good points or ideas for a beginner? i plan to be taking alot more night shots then day shots... thanks guys!

For a 15second! exposure they are pretty good.
Certianly nothing abnormal about them, infact I would say they a little less noise than my A80.

Compare them to any other compact camera at the same ISO and the same exposure time and you will see what a really noisy photo is.

Because the A series use's such a small sensor it will always have issues with a little bit of noise at long exposures. Basicly the sensor heats up the longer it is exposed, and the smaller it is the worse its effected by that heat build up.
To make things worse any area of solid colour, especialy dark colour will show that noise up even more.
But, the A series has what I would call a "soft" noise, while its noticable its not unpleasent.
Some of the "other" cameras from "other" manufactors can have images so noisy they are almost unviewable, and the noise is very harsh and extremely noticable.

And, the first photo, of your phone has no noise in it.
Its just badly out of focus, suffering from to shallow depth of field and camera shake.
