The parents of the groom have ordered some prints - a dozen, all but one 6*4, the one 12*8. The 6*4s will go into a simple album, the 8*12 will be framed and hung somewhere. They don't know and don't really care about the difference between glossy or matte, and said "they'd take my advice as I know best".

Thing is I think it's personal preference, and i've only even seen matte prints once, but I did like them. What do you all think I should print them as, glossy, matte, or a mix?

These are for a parents album, made by them not be, i'm having them printed at a good consumer lab, not a pro lab. I'm really not worried about them scanning them for this wedding, since I did it near cost for the experience. The real album will be printed by a pro lab, of course.

Tim: I find a satin finish or semi-gloss is what most people want. I print my wedding photos on Epson's Premium Luster paper.

Thanks Maureen. I'll have a pro lab do the proper set of wedding prints, but I don't mind doing a few prints for parents that aren't for a proper album at a consumer print store. The only options I have are glossy or matte, and I think based on the results I got here and the 120 votes on my FM poll i'm going to go matte this time.
