i need help to take pics of my friends STI while on the highway cruising. Im a noob and new to photography. i was wondering what shutter speed i should set it at while cruising maybe 50-65 mph.

I'm probly newer than you. Ive been googling things i think theres something about this on DSLRtips.com but i dunno i havent gotten too indepth with anything..
New Jersey here too by the way and i want to do the same with my buddies GTO so im listening to what other people have to say as well

Depends on how much distance you want the background to move. Try using Tv mode and set the SS to 1/60th and move around from there for desired results.

It depends on how much blur you want, how fast you are going, and how well you maintain your position with your chase car, and how steady you are. Just start with 1/60 and see how you like the effect.

so just start off 1/60th and start from there. Use TV mode for it too eh?

Im a noob and new to photography. i was wondering what shutter speed i should set it at while cruising maybe 50-65 mph. You don't need to go that fast. I suggest that you use Tv & shoot a series of shots between 1/125 & 1/15. See what you like, then transfer those settings to manual. It's not as if the light will be changing?
And pay attention to the backgrounds while you're shooting.

If this is a friend of yours, just get out and practice. You will start to figure out what works and what doesn't. I suggest getting a set of cheap radios so you can talk to both drivers at the same time. One key is to make sure they are going exactly the same speed. As stated Tv mode will make your life much easier as well...
