Hello!

This is my first post in this forum, hope you can answer the silly question!

I own the EOS 10D, bought it about 2 years ago, and I am now at picture # 5880 or so. My question is, is there a known life span for this type of camera, or, how many more pictures can I expect to shoot before some service is required (asides from having a tragic accident that damages the instrument, that is!)??

Thanks!

Roldan

From what I remember, the Shutter life expectancy is 100,000 cycles?

Generally they are fairly bulletproof in terms of electronics reliablity.
The first thing to go is the shutter at around 50000 clicks. This number is an estimate based on experience by heavy users who have had to replace theirs-it can be a whole lot less or somewhat more.
I've heard shutters cost about us$200(?) to replace.

Wow! thanks for the quick replies!

So I guess I still have a couple of years to go before something breaks down (under normal circumstances, of course!).

Maybe by that time I will have enough money to buy the EOS 1Ds Mark II, which hopefully will be priced a little lower than it is today!!!!

:)

Thank You!
