Here is my first attempt at shooting a MMA event...The lighting was horrible, the ring was a giant reflector, and my original images are saturated in red.

Please C&C ...I will take any advise I can get, what could I have done to minimize the saturation?

All shot with 50mm F1.8 ISO3200

The good: nice composition, and I particularly like the armbar pic in the second shot.

The bad: the colors.

It also appears to me that your monitor may not be calibrated right- the shots remind me of mine when the rest of the world were seeing overexposed shots when they looked ok on my screen. It turned out that my screen was far too dark.

These particular shots would look better in B&W due to the color cast.

What I would do differently: Custom White Balance. Also, by reading your EXIF information, I'd at least double your current iso for this particular venue as the shutter speed isn't going to be useful beyond a few static ground shots.

I like the 2nd shot the best, though I don't like the red/pink hue the photos have going on.

Try setting a custom white balance before shooting?

I agree with liking the composition of the shots. The rest just throws it off way too much for me
