I was out yesterday at my favorite wild flower spot - it's currently carpeted in Bird's - foot - trefoil, Dog Daisy, Common Vetch and lots of Common Spotted Orchid and if you look carefully you will find the odd Bee Orchid hiding amongst the colour.

Anyhow managed to get these two shots.

Common Spotted Orchid (Dactylorhiza fuchsii)

Bee Orchid (Ophrys apifera)

Beautiful shots. The 2nd one really looks like a bug.:)

Its uncanny. We have just been talking about taking some shots of orchids in the field opposite us!

They're lovely, David. :D

Hope you still do - not the easiest of subjects - lots of trial and error!

Have fun

Stunning photos David - I would love to do some more flower shots, but it's difficult to get down to that level :(

You're lucky to have a wildflower meadow with such wonderful treasures. The Orchids seem to be having a good year, I wonder if it's due to the amount of rain?

I particularly like the Bee Orchid - I like the composition, fills the frame and adds to the interest.

Thanks Nicki,
I'm pleased you mentioned the composition of the second one - it did have me somewhat concerned but because its so small its the only way I could really show it at its best.
