DOF - does this work on this one?

thought i'd try and make use of the standard lens on the canon 20d...does this work as an image?

which one do you prefer?

Although the people in the background are a distraction, I think I prefer the second, except for the fact the barrell is out of focus...

However I think you could layer the first over the second, that way the tank barrell and soldiers could be in focus and the people could stay blurred. You could even use photoshop to blur them a bit more....

I do agree, second one is better, but I'll eihter fix it in photoshop and make bg more blury or use different composition, may be choose different point of fucus to make whole tank in focus and blur the bg.
