I'm planning on being in the UK for a few weeks in August (business/pleasure trip) and I'm looking for suggestions for an appropriate bag/pack for taking on the trip. My Lowepro Stealth Reporter 650 bag and Classic AW pack are just too big to lug around for a couple of weeks.
I plan on taking the following:
350 body
EF-S 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 USM
EF 50mm F1.4 USM
Tamron SP 28-105 F2.8 LD
Sigma 70-200 F2.8 EX DG/HSM
Sigma 1.4x & 2x APO Teleconverters
Speedlite 580EX
A few small accessories (CPL filters, cable release, extra batteries and charger, and CF cards)
Girlfriend will be taking my 300 body with a Tamron 18-200 lens; she'll have her own bag for that, but won't always be with me, so I need to have my stuff in a single bag.
I'm thinking that my 3021BPRO tripod is just too big for the trip so I'll probably take the smaller and lighter Manfrotto 3405. If there's a hookup on the bag/pack for the tripod, that would be great.

haha im 6'4" and about 165lbs. not big but tall..the inside measurements are (WxHxD) 10x14(3/4)x5 inches
pretty roomy for 38 bucks :)
i cant believe how well its made also..i thought hey for 38 dollars dont expect too much. I was wrong this is all i will need for a long time !.
i can't think of why someone would get the 100+ dollar counterparts..
for someone beginning with less than 5-6 lenses this is a pretty awesome deal

I have the Lowepro Rove AW II. It will haold everything you list (but not lots more) and you have a separate compartment on top for a some food or clothing. It will easily carry a tripod of any size but that does make it a bit more awkwark to get into. You have to undo the bottom of the tripod.

yes it holds a tripod and 2 monopods if you want
on the bottom of the pack theres 2 loops so you can have a tripod attached there..
pretty neat i tell you !!
and on hte sides there is 2 pockets towards the bottom and then a loop on each side above them so you could easily store something tall..monopod and have it secured..
im still impressed ! i got it off of amazon.com cheapest..goes through adorama.

Well, I hit the local camera shop and checked out a few diofferent packs. The Tamrac Adventure 75 turned out to be the smallest bag in which I could squeeze the equipment I wanted to bring. I'm a big guy (6'4", 295) and have an unfortuante tendancy to pack way too much stuff and use big bags/packs since it's not that big a deal to carry it, then I realize that lugging the bag around is a huge PITA ;)
Here's some pics of the 75, fully loaded, and compared in size to my original Lowepro Trekker pack -
