If it were me, i'd step back just a little so as not to crop the top of the street light and the leg of the bench. I'd also put something on the far end of the bench like a basket ball, a cup of soda or a neatly folded news paper. But that's just me.

Good job. Maybe crop a little of the right side off?

Try to fill the frame better. The white sky on the top left corner bothers me, my eyes just goes off the frame.
Let me ask you this, what are you trying to capture? The bench, a feeling, shape, texture. etc??
With photography, how the photo was taken is as important as the actual content

I think you've got a potentially good image here, but not as presented. This shot suggests a couple of possibilities:
1) A much wider shot so that the bench is a smaller part of the overall composition, which might convey a feeling of loneliness/emptiness better.
2) A much tighter shot from one end of the bench so that it becomes an abstract study in converging lines.

Yup, compose the image better... the bench is dead in the middle.

Love the newspaper idea!

I was mainly trying to capture the bench.
