shots taken beside where I parked my (punctured) bicycle
saw the sunlight highlighting the best of the crop

a newspaper boy was giving national sunday newspapers to everyone (free) as they were going back to their cars etc
many dropped the papers all over the ground
because they were holding onto pints of beer http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif so they decided which was more important . the newspaper under their arm or the pints held tightly in their fists

A few look the worse for wear here, too much Bud or champagne! You can feel the heat in the photos, it really was a gorgeous day, nice shots.

I was delighted they all got such a good day as the day before it had been so different , thanks Daragh

the weather made such a difference in everyway for everyone involved
the grass on the plains has been cut by tractors for weeks.

tonight they were out watering the courses
especially the all weather course.

Marie, you went to the Irish Derby on your bike. :shock:

You could almost mistake the shots for Cannes or St Tropez.
I mean the guy in the first shot looks a bit like Robert Duvall. :? No :?

Anyway, Marie, great shots and great reportage.

BTW a gee gee or two might have been nice. :lol:

Great shots Marie, the ladies look lovely in there brightly coloured summer dresses. I love the 2nd one where shes' all dressed up walking barefoot though the discarded newspapers and her mate dressed in jeans. :lol: :lol: :lol: Looks like something I'd be wearing. The jeans that is. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I like the dressed up and the casual clothes together
they mixed very well . the colour may not be 100% correct

they are tags to show they were permitted to enter the reserved enclosure
there were different sections on the racecourse

Although I am not a big Budweiser fan (the US variety, that is), I certainly would have enjoyed seeing the derby very much ... your pictures take me close to it :D

I like the idea of you going around on your bike taking pictures. I do the same thing!




I don't usually have the camera with me on the bicycle
just the very odd time I may put it in the basket but I am always headed somewhere else and if I do, I bring it 'in case'

not lately though
last time was when I got the kid driving down a lane in a pink jeep
(in february I think )
this time I left the bicycle near the reserved car park for a few hours
