Just make sure you are happy with the image rights they acquire for all images entered not just the winning ones.

"Copyright:

The entrants must be the sole author and owner of the copyright in all pictures entered i.e. the entrant must have taken the photograph and have all necessary permissions. The entrant warrants that photographs submitted will not infringe any rights of any third party The organiser reserves the worldwide, non-exclusive royalty-free right and license for copyright to reproduce the entries in relation to Dog Photographer of The Year merchandise and advertising.

The organiser reserves the right to free reproduction and exhibition in all media (now known and hereafter created) of the entries. The entrants warrants the Kennel Club the right to reproduce in any material form (including photocopying or storing it in any medium by electronic means and whether or not transient or incidentally to some other use) any photographs entered into this competition without the need to obtain the entrants permission to do so as the copyright owner."

I see no mention of it being a London only competition...that would be a bit silly. I also see no mention of it being a UK residents only competition.

Dog Photographer Of The Year 2010

The Kennel Club is running its prestigious Dog Photographer of the Year Competition for 2010 and, has fabulous prizes for you to win! All that you need is a camera and - of course - a love of dogs!

All entry fees will go to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust (Registered Charity Number 327802).

Closing date is 31 August 2010

Prizes:

The winning photograph will be put on display at London’s Leading Canine Event, Discover Dogs in November 2010 at Earls Court.

The winning image will also be reproduced on the front cover of the special Photography Competition edition of the Kennel Club’s flagship publication, The Kennel Gazette and the winner from each category will be presented with a framed print of their photograph.

The winner of the 16 and Under category along with their parent(s)/guardian will win a day out with the professional dog photographer Marc Henrie, a one year membership of the Young Kennel Club and a digital camera in addition to the framed print.

There are four categories to enter:

· Dogs at Work

· Dogs at Play

· Dog Portrait

· Man’s Best Friend

To enter one of the above categories an entry fee consisting of a minimum donation of £3.50 to the Kennel Club Charitable Trust is required. There is also a category for entrants aged 16 and under called 'I love dogs'. Entry to this category is free.
