If you're going with children, you need batteries, coffee, and when it's done, a stiff drink.

oh, you meant -- does your camera need more batteries? Two batteries is a good idea. I've never exhausted two in one day. Cheap at www.SterlingTek.com - something like $12 US. Extra CF cards also a good idea, and something to clean cotton candy smears off the front of your protective UV filter.

Thankfully, mine are teens and past that, into other tortures. Have fun...

Thanks for the info. I do have 2 512mb cards and also have a 20GB ImageTank. I think that should be good for the memory. The bad thing about the battery, is that i waited too long because i forgot. I leave in 5 days and i dont have time to order a battery. So i gotta go to my local camera shop and pick one up. Me forgetting cost me more money. No biggie. It will be worth it.

And i do not have any kids just yet. Me and the boss are going together just to get away and have a good time. I still might need something to clean the cotton candy. :)

I'd take a tiny pocket sized camera and leave the SLR at home. Go, have fun, and the photos you get with a compact camera will be more than good enough for most uses.

yeah, if you're just planning on making snapshots all day, a cheapy might be the way to go. i'd hate to hear that your slr got lost in space mountain.

Sterlingtek -- see this post "sticky (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79584)" regarding sterlingtek batteries for comprehensive info. I have 3 of their batteries, I rotate them, have lasted for about a year without any problems but they don't get a strenuous workout.

I also have the sterlingtek charger and it works fine.

I usually buy spare batteries at the same time I buy any camera. Always have a backup.
