Not a bad image but I think your photoshop blur hasn't improved it as you would have liked. Try a brush with a softer edge, more feathering. I find it very difficult to pull the detailed image out for this type of blur (bought a 50 mm f1.8 to try it in camera). I just read a thread here last night that explained exactly how to do this and get all the detail. If I find it I'll post the link for you.

Nice picture! You seem to be capturing a quiet moment in time, but you need to pay more attention to the edges where the sharp background is showing through, especially on her left arm and the right side of her hair.

The best thing you can do to improve this is to make smaller selections around the outside of your model, feather the pixels by 2, zoom in to about 300% and take your time.

I took this photo last year and totally blurred the background to remove the distractions of a large crowd (I apologize if this is considered "hi-jacking" your post!)
