Alright I thought I would give it a try creating a sequence with snowboarding!

My experience with my Canon XSi (what this was shot with) is that I didn't really get great continuous action from it.. as you can see the first 3 photos and then the 4th photo was delayed (I blame the Class 4 SDHC card) and in fact I'm sure the camera would be saying BUFFERING... as this was being taken like many of my photos that day.. anyway...

I layed the photos on top of each other in Photoshop, used the quick mask tool to cut out the snowboarder and then pasted it on the first frame. Lined it up and voila! Not that bad since I was sort of panning with the rider too. I've read most of the time you want to take the shots on a tripod without moving the camera.

I'm happy with my first result! I hope now to be able to get some cool sequence shots with my Canon 7D (8fps!) and work on my quick-mask skills!

What do you think for a quick first attempt?

nice shot might just be the compression but it seems a little out of focus, and the guy gets lost in the last frame. but for the first one its not a failure, its quite good. the rider has some crazy style though nice grab and he holds it for sooo long.

i am moving to burnaby next friday so hopefully i can get in some shredding before winter is over.

I really like it! I have never tried to make a sequence like this so I don't know how to go about it but next time if you could find a less distracting background I think it would make it a little better. The subject just doesn't pop out at me. But for a first attempt its great :)
