I have been a member of deviant art for like 5 years and just realized they have a cool free portfolio thing. You get like 4 categories and 18 pictures max per category. You can also pay for it and get cooler things, but I am cheap. Check mine out:

Thanks for posting this - this is EXACTLY what I was looking for for a starting portfolio!

Wow nice shots and really cool that dA is providing that now. If you ever want to upgrade I'd suggest Zenfolio. That's what I've been using and I really like all of the things that they provide. (My link is in my sig if you're interested, but I'm sure you've seen one before). They just did a nice update allowing you to really customize a lot more.
