Contrast in colours combines with the frame not including enough foreground such that the free at left appears free-floating over the background, and the lead in lines are compromised: nothing in the foreground carries the eye towards the background. There are some elements that draw the eye but - at least at this size - provide no detail, such as the bright white specs under the large dark opening at right, just above the branch. The lighting of the tree is so harsh and frontal it looks 2D.
For all that, I think I can see why you like it enough to submit... the mid/background has some interesting curves, texture and lighting, and in terms of weighting the foreground tree does provide a kind of counter to the dark area at right, the almost-diagonal branch spans those areas and communicates the other tree out of frame, but that the viewer will be conscious of.
So, ultimately, frontal lighting on the tree is too much, more foreground needed, and something else softening leading from the trees through the depth of the image....
Cheers,
Tony

thanks Tony----
I see what you mean about the lighting and how the tree seems to float....I will play with that alittle more.

Why is everything but the tree neon blue? At this small of a size, I'm having a hard time resolving what I am looking at in the frame.
I'd love to give something slightly more useful if you could link to/post a larger version...
