I'm looking for a sharp, professional flash website template that I can download and set up myself.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I checked MonsterTemplates.com but didn't see any that really caught my eye. I really like the templates on PhotoBiz.com but you can't download those templates.

There might be something at JAlbum.net, or someone willing to make one for you.

I'm at a stalemate myself. I have a domain name and know which host i'm gonna go with but I can't find a template for my website to actually commit to the host. I've searched a lot.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for since I don't think you can download these templates, but I really like www.wix.com. There are templates there to choose from but you can customize any of them as much as you want.
Good luck!

Thanks! I really like JAlbum.net. Much more so than a lot of the top results that came up on Google. This could be perfect for what for getting started. Ideally, I'd like something that's flash based, but it's tough to beat the price of JAlbum.

Yep, that's the first thing I tried, but spent a while sifting through the results. There's a lot of templates that are junk.
I figured some people on here would have some personal experience with this sort of thing and be able to offer better advice than a search engine.

GoDaddy is super cheap and pretty reliable for hosting. Plans start at around $4/mo. You can usually Google Go Daddy coupon code too to get additional $ off.

Dreamhost seems to offer the most for the price when I was looking.

I tried out JAlbum and like it, but you need to host your album on their servers. It might still be a viable option but ideally I'd like to control where it's hosted

http://www.flashcomponents.net/components/flash_templates.html is one that I have seen used by some photographers who have posted on this forums site. I have not used them, but they look pretty cool.

You don't need to host on their servers. I use Jalbum with the Fotoplayer skin.
This is from their site:
Got your own website?
Publish your Jalbum photo albums directly to your own site with the Jalbum app.

I missed that when I was testing it out...thanks for clarifying. I'll try it out some more tonight.

JAlbum is pretty neat. I was able to upload the album to my own server and it's super easy to download and change skins. Some skins cost money but there's a bunch of free ones. You can also create your own skins if you know a little bit about HTML and CSS.

It is confusing at first, but once you download the program and figure out how things are set up, it's very easy to use. Here's how to publish to your own server - http://jalbum.net/help/tutorials/publish-to-your-site
