I'm going to get a 1D mrk III in a month or so, and I was wondering if I need to upgrade my memory cards to something faster for this camera? I'm using Sandisk Extreme III 4GB CF cards now.
Does it matter if I choose SD or CF cards, or is the performance the same?

I do not believe the MKIII can even wright to the speed of the Exteme II cards . The benifit is in faster download times to you PC so I am pretty sure you are fine with the card you have.
I read this somewhere on the MKII users thread.

Great, I'll just keep my Extreme III's then, and go get some Extreme III SD cards.

Thank you both. :)

The following link should give you a pretty good idea of how the different cards perform with the 1D mark III:

Looks like the top performers are SD cards.

Thats a great link, thank you very much. :) And yes it looks like the SD cards are doing quite a bit better than the CF's...
