Imagemagick or GD2

Now that I've moved servers I've noticed that my new server has Imagemagick installed whereas my old one didn't.

I've previously used GD2 to resize my images.

Are there any benefits in changing to Imagemagick, or do they both do much the same job?

Imagemagick has sharpening, watermarking, profile data removal and it is compatible with more input file formats. Try it.
