OK it appears that I missed the response to my query.
I recently bought a 20D with the kit 18-55 I never used it until this weekend when i needed a WA to capture a church near Archer City Texas (Last Picture Show) and (Texasville) I shot in raw so i feel the images can be PS to rid the junk out of them but never mind that.
It appears during manufacture this lense got a full load of junk on the inside of the lens carrier. No amount of air or cleaning removed the pieces of , what i describe as plastic flash.
Yesterday evening I took the lens and receipt to the WOlf center i purchased it from and they wanted to exchange the entire camera/etc. I said no and asked if I would be best to return the lens to Canon. He insisted NO and exchanged it for the demo camera lens. I carefully inspected the replacement and found it to be in good working order.
Im not the type to purchase junk lenses and used this one in an emergency. I shoot mainly indoor cheerleading candid portraiture for the team. IM no pro but i do love photgraphy.
In the lens stable i have the kit lense and the canon 75-300 usm I also just purchased the Sigma 24-70f2.8 and am currently testing Tokina 80-200f2.8 which i have decided to buy.
I am dont really have the money to purchase L lenses but will purchase the pro lenses form tokina and sigma i feel for the money the value is excellent.
Until i do more research for WA lenses I will use the kit lense until i can educate myself more on the current crop of 10mmto 35mm lenses.
