I got this image of my son with his sippy cup and thought his expression was great. From reading on this forum and learning about photography, I'm understanding the importance of seeing the eyes. Would you all mind giveing me a little feedback on this image? I didn't think it needed to be cropped. I did some work on the shadows in PS but only because I lightly underexposed the image.

You thoughts are appreciated.

Pretty good shot but I would crop a little more (too much space on the left side) and I would rather see an image like this in colour (sippy cups are usually very bright colours!). It looks like you have the left eye in focus which is great. The eyes always lead the viewer into the frame and having them in focus is important. The only other distraction I see (this is really picky thought) is the chair rail which goes into his head. Most portraits try and avoid anything in the background sticking out of heads. (normally you would do this by picking a different background or change to FoV so that the background is very blurred) The expression is great! Cute kiddo too........

Nice shot, though it would maybe be better if his mouth was not obscured by the cup.

It's a sharp image, maybe a bit blown out. I would like to see the colour version.

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks both,

He was finishing dinner and I was working on a project at the table. I looked up and saw him. I grabbed the camera and took the shot. He moves so much, I didn't have time to stage much. Just a little candid moment...

Thanks for the comments, I'll post the color version, but I don't like it.
