OK, I finally did it:) . No, not the lens, but my first post here. Was reading this forum for probably 6 months. Then, month ago I just went insane and spent fortune. Picked up 20D with 18-55. Was not happy at all. So in addition I picked up 24-70L. At first I was a little frustrated with 24-70 and 20D. Too many images were soft, but some were sharp, so I knew it's not a lens or camera, it's me. Still learning.

What do you think here, is it sharp enough or I should kill myself:lol: for wasting so much money..........

First one is 100% crop of second image. It's my first attempt at macro so be nice.....
Note that I didn't do any Photoshop sharpening.........

Looks pretty good -- What were your camera settings?

Wow, in at the deep end!

Looks good, but are YOU happy. It's fine, but probably not the ideal subject matter for that lens.

It's not a macro lens but nice colour, bokeh and a 3D feel. First look, nice one. Now you need to get used to it and enjoy it ... esp. enjoy it.

Probably DOF is a little shallow.
Camera settings were:

Aperture Priority
Shutter 1/250
Aperture f4
Focal 70mm
ISO200

Remo – that's the money shot!

If that was my walkabout lens, I would be rather pleased with myself.
