I liked the colour picture best, you have a seeing eye for a strong shape,( the Bridge) the red stands out well against the greens, nice composition also.

Dont know how you converted to B & W, but I think the blacks are a little blocked up, ( no detail )
look at far end of bridge.
If you are using Photoshop try out channels and the red channel, this will effectively allow the red through and therefore any reds in the shot will reproduce as much lighter tone values.
also another great way to convert this image is by using an action called " Digidaan "

If you wish I will edit your Black & white image and repost for you.
Hope this is helpfull

Off topic, but this picture is meaningful for me; my father was wounded during WWII in a crossing of the river Bruges.

He was a Lt. in the Hamilton Argyle Sutherland Highlanders, in command of an assault boat being paddled across when it was hit by German fire.

Some of the shrapnel was still in him when he died many years later; he could set off metal detectors at airports

I have no idea if it happened anywhere near this bridge, but you never know.

Yes I used the easy way to convert, modus grey , now I try one differenthy way.

Bruges has in totally 8 bridges (ports), these on the photograph the Bargebrug freely recent, but on 50 m lain is by one by the important entry bridges of the city, consequently you do never know indeed.

thanks for response and greetings,
Luc

and please forgive my faulty english.

Colour for me. The B&W one tends to lose the bridge in the foliage behind, the separation of colours really makes it stand out.

I would use low saturation, so the bridge still show through a little bit, but is look B&W.

Colour definitely!
Not many smallbridges that colour so keep it - also good with the green.
A strange shape bridge do you have any more shots of it?

Both, I luv the red.

Experiment with some colored filters (maybe green) to add some pop to the black and white one.

Color by a bit margin. BW everything seems to get lost.

Definitely the color version. If the red structure were some dull color, like grey, the B/W might have worked better.

Maybe it's the engineer in me, but the image leaves me hanging on why the far end of the red portion of the structure leans so far to the left. I'm left to wonder if it is falling down, or purposefully built that way. It disappears into the trees and doesn't lend an obvious answer.

On the other hand, from an artistic standpoint, that leaves either mystery and intrigue to the casual viewer, or lends a non-symetrical appearance that is generally pleasing.

Yes, I think it is meant to be seen in color.
