Sorry for this really mundane question but I would be grateful for advice on what to use to clean my camera body without causing any damage.
Thanks in advance for your help.

My 40d was given to me as a gift from a good friend and that is also a smoker.... the body stunk so I used some warm water and mild dish soap on a cloth to wipe it down and other than the lint!! it worked well.
Round 2 with a lint free cloth and my now backup 40d is smelling and looking good.

A damp cloth and a toothbrush to loosen some sticky mud is all I've ever used.

Scrub clean with a old toothbrush and then wipe with a micro fibre cloth sprayed with Armor All.
Exactly what my tech uses to clean a body when he has one in for servicing.

water/vinegar mixture works great on plastic of electronics. Vinegar actually brings up a bit of a shine too.

Pancro is the safest and best lens and body cleaner available. I've used it for 10 years, nothing else comes close.

A damp cloth and towel. Toothbrush if there is any seriously ingrained dirt.
But make sure there isnt too much water.

I use baby wipes, cuz they are readily available in my home. Oh yeah, I use the clean wipes, not the used ones.
