I am a Total Newbie .......
i like to see the CC part of the forum , sometime i would like to add my 2cents but i feel that i no Cred or Rep to do so since i am just a Noob myself.
Is it okay to comment on others pics being a noob, not just saying " Great pic " etc, but giving a bit back of what i have learned or should i wait until my own pics get better.
I know Photography being art is a subjective matter so when do i really know i got better to comment.
Thanks

Of course it's ok. Art is subjective and it's good to have other opinions. There are sometimes that someone will comment on something that I really didn't notice until they said it. It's always good to have more eyes on the subject.
Welcome to POTN, btw.

Speaking of 2 cents, I'd like to add mine into this thread.
I don't think people mind criticism as long as it's constructive -- if you decide to criticize someone's work by insulting them and telling them it's utter crap, then you're going to be well known as someone whose opinion doesn't matter.
If you think someone's work needs...well, work, then do it in a way which would benefit them.

I think it's fine to give CC as a photographic newbie (btw thats how I class myself as well).
I can't play a musical instrument, but I know what music I like.
I have never produced, nor directed a feature film, but I know what movies I like.
I've never painted a painting, but I know what oil paintings that I like and don't like.
Go for it.

Yes, please give more information than "great shot" or "nice picture." That doesn't help too much, especially in the CC forum, although it's nice to hear. Besides, when people post in the CC forum they are expecting specific comments. When I comment on any picture I try to point out something I like about the photo or don't like.

i agree with everyone else. saying "i hate this" is of no help, but if you say "i hate this because x, y and z" then it can be helpful to the photographer and anyone who reads the thread. speak up whether you like it or not and tell us why or why not. :-)
