The hdr images I posted under my topic "Barn" and "A little bit of country" were all shot at the Hemet Stock Farm near where I live. I finally got around to taking a couple of photos of the main gate sign this morning.

Not sure you needed HDR, they look way overdone. Unless you didn't want to look natural at all anymore. Try backing it off a bit. When you see halo-ing (the light borders around the trees) it's usually a sign that you went too far.

Thanks for your comments. The reason these were done in hdr was to preserve the details in the shadows without blowing out the sky. That they are "way overdone" is a matter of personal taste I suppose.

Look almost 3D. Outstanding. The HDR takes the photos right to the edge. Don't change a thing. I book worthy images. You nailed it down.

Me 2 - I like the farm better - much more interesting with great old wood texture coming through.

Plus a much more natural processing effort. Though, I do like the entrance sign. Nice work Gene.

Wow...thanks for the comments. This was a post done over a year ago. I guess I'll add one more image of the farm. This one was shot over a fence while I focused/composed using live-view on my 7D.

that massive details in the second image are awesome Doc. I am captured by the composition, the colors and lines of the shot. They all look great but I like that one the most.

I agree. I really like #2....ton's of detail. Not overdone at all.

Thanks again all. I just redid the last image I posted here and I think it looks much better. I encourage you to click on the image to see it at a much larger size.

I tend to like photos that you can put your nose right up to and look at all the little details in the image.
