moving subjects & long exposure due to lack of light.

EXIF shows f3.5, ISO16000, approx 1.3 sec exposure. The lack of vibration in items like the desk chair, edge of concrete area, etc suggest that the camera was supported on something like a table or something at the time the shutter was tripped.

Actually, i took this free hand. That i remember. I am just really curious about how i made that one subject appear see-thru like a ghost?? Thanks for the info that i have already got!!

Yep... The girl was moving, and someone took a flash photo in the background, which froze an image of her sillouette and made the shadows. It was a lucky one that would be hard to set up again. You'd need remote flash to do it deliberately.

That totally makes sense. This is not something i can do deliberately at a party like this. But i am glad i go this shot. Maybe i will get lucky again. Thank you very much for everyones help.

did you use a fixed 28mm lens or was this the kit lens?

It was my Tamron 28-80mm aspherical. It is not the best, but it works well for me. I just need to learn how to take clearer pics.

You hand held that for 1.3 seconds! You must have a very steady hand.

I like the way the light shows up the shadows of the legs - like more people are there than can be seen. Very surreal.

You can get some interesting pics by 'dragging' the shutter. Use a slow shutter (1/30 or below) with flash - this will render some parts crisp, with a bit of ghosting on the others.

No joking!! I had my knee on the ground and my elbow on my other knee to hold me steady. It from years of being a sniper in the Navy. Breathing techniqe and balance control. But it was freehand. Honestly.

If you dont have additional flashes, you might ask one of your friends to take a shot whith a flash from a different angle, while you are taking one long one. The one in the picture seems to have come from the front left, making the hair look really nice. Your picture inspired me to try this one, thanks for sharing.
