Hi all,
I just want to say thanks for everyone POTN for the wisdom and guidance.
After shooting a relatives wedding Uncle Bob style (which turned out to be more than that, and a rather large print order), I have been approached by a lady who had their photographer cancel out on them. Their wedding is not until October, so i figured "why not!".
I have what i think is a modest, but still reasonable range of gear (all in my sig + I have a 28-70 f2.8 EX and 70-200f4 coming). I have looked at what other photographers around my area are charging, have developed a few packages and she was happy with the pricing. I priced so I was in the lower end of the market, due to my experience, but still so I didn't sell myself short and manage to make some money out of it. So I won't be posting "yet another pricing question" or anything any time soon.
It is a second wedding, so i feel a little more comfortable about doing it as I don't think they would be as critical as a first time bridezilla. Don't get me wrong, I will still give it 110% and do everything i can to capture everything perfectly. It is a beach wedding, very casual, and should make for some really nice shots.
So what is the point of this post?
Well, there isn't one really. I just want to say thanks to everyone, because without the insight that POTN has provided me, I probably wouldn't have had the guts to accept any jobs from "the public".
The first wedding i shot taught me a massive amount, which should help me get the best out of it too.
If anyone has any quick pointers that they can offer me, I will gladly take them on board.
If you don't hear from me after October 1st, call the authorities =)
Thanks again to everyone and all the best.
I will post some pics once it is done.
Rob
