Here's a play at the plate in today's Daytona Cubs vs Vero Beach Dodgers game. It was the final out in a Cubs 5 - 3 win.

Cubs win, Cubs win!

Oops, wrong Cubs :)

Fantastic capture! With the runner in mid-air, and the great look on his face... just awesome.

Excellent job!

I haven't seen very many baseball pics on this forum, but even so, this one is the BEST I've seen!

Great shot. Knee savers huh? My daughter (who catches) says they are for wimps and make for lazy catchers. :)

Thanks all. Plays at the plate are not all that common in a game and I was in a perfect spot to capture the action -- at the corner of the dugout almost directly behind first base. Happy to share it :) .

Very Nice photo.
When I get to the studio tomorrow I'll post one I took a few weeks ago. Has the catcher glove in the air after catching a ball and the dust coming off the glove.

Thanks, I must have half a dozen photos of this catcher (#9 Brain Sunders) in this very pose and dusty glove.

The team has 4 catchers and this is the only guy I can capture with the dust.

My daughter (and her coach) would say that's because they aren't getting that glove in the dirt to stop those low ones. :)

Deffinitely the perfect spot! Sweet picture, the baserunners expression is great.
