I have been offered a heavy, sturdy tripod probably 20+ yr old. It is dusty but looks like a tank. How much should I offer for it? I couldn't find a brand on it.

What is it worth to you? Even if it's big & heavy as long as it provides a solid base for your camera (and is able to handle the weight), you should be able use it for your home /studio pics. I have a clunky, inexpensive tripod that is a rock & I mainly just use it for at home. Or if I don't have to tote it around I'll use it away from home also. Just be sure it will handle your gear safely.

make sure you test it out to make sure it's even worth buying. are you currently using any quick release system? you may want to see if the head or clamp is removable in case you want to change it out later.
